James Homer Lowden, 81, of 508 River St., a retired bartender employed at the Mecca,died at 3 p.m. Saturday in Blanchard Valley Hospital following an illness of two years.

Born April 24, 1888 in Putnam County, he was the son of Joseph and Melissa (Crawford) Lowden. He married Juanita Coleman on Dec. 23, 1947 and she survives along with sons, James E. and Don D., both of Chicago, Ill.; Porter T., 324 Allen Ave., A. James, at home, and a sister, Mrs. Gertrude Strite, Flat Rock, Mich.

A brother, Grover, McComb, survives as do 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. One sister and brother preceded him in death.

Services will be at 3 p.m. tomorrow in the Coldren Funeral Home, the Rev. Richard Snavely officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after noon today.
