HUNTINGTON - Hugh L. Hartman, 71, 428 S. Briant St., Huntington, died at 1:10 p.m. at his home.
Mr. Hartman was a locomotive engineer for Erie-Lackawanna and Conrail railroads prior to his retirement in 1978. He was a member of the Markle Church of Christ, Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite and Shrine, the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He served int he Army in the European theater during World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart.
He is survived by his wife, Jannette; one son, Richard, Angola; one daughter, Mrs. David (Janet) Wardrop, Massachusetts; one sister, Julia Hundley, Munster, Ind.; and one grandchild.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Deal and Robbins Funeral Home, 338 E. Washington St., with the Rev. Gerald Moreland and the Rev. Ivan C. Odor officiating. Burial will be in the Gardens of Memory cemetery, Huntington County.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
