The Hyphen Family Lineage

Clem appears to have married at least three times; his first was to Alice Wanda Zierath in 1925, which appears to have ended in divorce prior to the 1930 US Census. At that time, Alice was counted in her mother's household as single, while Clem was listed as living with his second wife, Edith. He was counted in the 1940 US Census with Edith and their five-year-old daughter Barbara. Some time after 1940, however, it appears that Clem divorced and remarried again, this time to a younger woman named Blanche.

Clem is buried next to Blanche, with a shared headstone, in Eberhard Cemetery, Columbia City, Whitley Cty, Indiana. His second wife, Edith, is listed as buried in the same cemetery. Both Edith and Blanche appear to have outlived Clem by nearly twenty years.

Interestingly, the census records don't report a consisent birth year for Clem, ranging from 1905 to 1908. The only reported instances I have yet found for a birthdate are the record from his first marriage and his burial listing (with a photo of his headstone, giving the date). Both report the date as 11 Jun, but his marriage record gives the year as 1906 while the burial listing gives the year as 1907.

I have not found further record of any children of his beyond Barbara.
