Word has been received of the death of Harvey F. Grulke, 78, of Rockford, Iowa, a former resident of Watertown, who died on Thursday, June 18, 1998, at North Iowa Mercy Health Care Center in Mason City, Iowa.
Funeral services were held on Sunday at Zion Lutheran Church in Rockford, with burial in Riverside Cemetery.
The Schumberg Funeral Home was in charge of aarrangements.
Grulke was born March 15, 1920 in Lebanon, son of Ernst and Alma (Uttech) Grulke. On Sept. 14, 1941 he married the former Ruth Schoen at Cross Lutheran Church in Ixonia. He worked for the Watertown Street Department for more than 28 years and was known as the "street sweeper." In 1990 he and his wife moved to Rockford. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Watertown.
Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Eileen (Kenneth) trettin of Rockford; four grandchildren; a brother, Marvin (Dorothy) of Watertown; four sisters, Lorraine Uttech and Orvilla Duddeck, both of Watertown, Luellis (Edmund) Meyer of Cato and Arlene (Hilmer) Zastrow of Lebanon; nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Wilbert and Fred.
