Narrative
Ambrotype photograph of Johan George Bayha Jr. The original glass plate is backed with black varnish, and was wrapped in a decorative embossed metal shroud and kept in a wood-and-leather keepsake case. The other half of the case contains an ambrotype photo of Agnes (Hablitzel) Bayha, his wife.
Because of the relatively short time during which ambrotypes were common, this photo is presumed to be from around 1860.
